Dinner with Joi Ito. Tonight was my first "Dinner with Joi," and what fun it was. I understand that when Joi's in town (wherever that may be) it's often an event. I had the pleasure of sitting opposite Robert Berger and David Dolnick, and next to Britt Blaser. Doc Searls was a party crasher--good to see him--and had a chance to say hello to Marc Canter, Kevin Marks, and Scott Mace. I said Hi to Howard and Judy Rheingold, whom I bumpped into in line at this year's Mill Valley Film festival. Kim Polese was there (we've never met), but I didn't get a chance to say hello or tell her how impressed I was by Marimba's software way back in 1996. (Can it really have been seven years? Wow.)
Never mind that when I got my car back from the $10 valet parking, I found my rear side window smashed in--it was still a great party. I only wish I'd had a chance to meet (and remember) more people.
