Norwegian Wooden Nickels? (Sorry, that's really bad.) A consortium of 80 media companies in Norway will simultaneously switch a small proportion of its content to pay per view. This unprecedented collaboration (with once bitter rivals) means no one in Norway can go elsewhere to get the content free. A company called e-solutions in Norway has developed a Micropayment application based on the same model I discussed in my comments. Users will charge their micropyament accounts with Kr1,000 (£80) and typical charging is £1 for 20 hours of browsing a particular section of a site. ANSI ASC X12 Creates XML Design Rules & Processes. Committed to driving cross-industry e-business standards interoperability, the ANSI Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 formed the Convergence and Outreach Task Group to enable collaboration with the multitude of industry groups and associations developing Extensible Markup Language (XML) specifications. Complementing this initiative, ASC X12 also reviewed a draft version of the XML design rules and initiated processes for developing, approving and maintaining XML standards during a dynamic meeting Feb. 3-8 in Seattle.
