Interoperability: Not Yet. With all the hype surrounding the standardization of web services, you'd think that linking systems based on Java and .NET would be a straightforward process. But no. Even after two years of web-services developments, interoperability remains a challenge. This article by Daniel Savarese in JavaPro magazine confirms what all of my clients tell me: crossing the J2EE/.NET boundary still takes a lot of work.
