O'Neill: Gartner on Security Standards Mark brings logic and understanding to what has been highly confusing for the past week or so. "Gartner are not recommending that Web Services security technologies are not used. They are referring to the security pattern specifications in particular...Much of this debate seems to be rooted in a belief that you must use Web Services technologies to secure Web Services traffic. In some ways, this is like saying you must use lions and tigers to secure the entrances and exits to a zoo. It doesn't logically follow."
