Blogarithms

Doug Kaye's thoughts on web services, web hosting and managed services.

Will Davis Resign? I won't be surprised if Governor Davis resigns before the scheduled October 7 recall election--perhaps soon. It may be the only way to keep a Democratic Governor in Sacramento. This coming week, I expect he'll be under tremendous pressure from fellow Democrats to do so, and thereby end this madness. By law (and this one won't be challenged), if the Governor resigns, the Lt. Governor (Cruz Bustamante--also a Democrat) takes his place.

If Davis resigns, it will be because of overwhelming polls showing that a Republican would otherwise replace him. That will make his resignation one of the first major political events caused entirely by polls and without the benefit of the electorial process.

Wasn't our reputation bad enough to begin with? As a friend commented over dinner, imagine how this looks to the Arab world. We're trying to foist off democracy throughout the Middle East, and as examples we have actors, pornographers, and hunrdreds (!) of others running for the position of leader of an economy much larger than Iraq's.
