Steve McConnell: Sofware Engineering For 12 years the author of Rapid Development, the Software Project Survival Guide, and the best-selling Code Complete has been one of the most influential voices in software-development methodology and the profession of software engineering. Amazon Web Services If you're going to the SDExpo conference the week of 3/15/04, I recommend attending the Amazon Web Services Developer Workshop. Even if you have no interest in working with Amazon.com, you'll likely find their vision of Amazon as an application platform intriguing. It's not just about last year's REST and SOAP interfaces to their site; I think the Amazon model will become an important one for many other software-as-service systems.
