Blogarithms

Doug Kaye's thoughts on web services, web hosting and managed services.

Qwest Gets It! In my new book I rant on the state of SLAs. In particular, I explain why there's no reason web-hosting services can't offer SLAs that covers off-net (3rd-party) traffic.

Well, I'm sure Qwest hasn't seen the book yet, but according to the Web Host Industry Review, "Qwest is the sole network service provider to guarantee a 95-millisecond maximum average round-trip latency between its network and the networks of the industry's Top 5 NSPs (based on a percentage of all network traffic, industry-wide)." This is an awesome first step towards SLAs that really work. Congratulations, Qwest!
