An Innocent Question. My wife was asking me why so many people in the software development business hate Microsoft so much. I explained that Microsoft has too much power and uses it selfishly and without regard for how it affects others. Then she asked, "Then do people hate Microsoft for the same reasons some people in other parts of the world hate the U.S.?" Hmmm...

Name Game. U.S. Name Generator. Cam writes: "Type your name into a form field, hit Submit, and it generates a new name for you based on the 1990 U.S. Census. Most excellent. It's rather curious. George Bush would be Adam Owen. Osama bin Laden is Alfred Pearson. And Foobar Thingamabob is Floyd Evans. Apparently, there is no logic being used here, just some kind of random character matching."
