Weblog Changes. To correspond with changes in my writing and consulting work, I'm making some changes to my weblogs. RSS subscribers should take particular note.
-
I've stopped posting to Blog the Organization. We just couldn't generate enough interest among publishers for a book about weblogs for business. Perhaps in a year or two.
-
The Internet Content Delivery will be merged into Web Hosting Strategies. There will be no new posts to the former.
-
Web Services Strategies is an all-new weblog on (you guessed it) IT strategies for the implementation of Web services.
-
And finally, I've killed Blogarithms, the "combo" weblog that includes all the posts from all of my separate weblogs.
You can catch details on my weblog index page.

Web Services: Challenges to Web Hosts? Rawlson King over at The Whir thinks Web services are a big deal for hosting vendors, but I disagree. Not that Web services aren't important, but they're not that big a deal. Web services are not a new architecture for application development and deployment. We'll still use the same database, application servers, etc., to develop the same applications. But Web services provide an additional interface to those applications. Web services are an integration technology not an application platform.

Financial Due Diligence is a Must . "As many hosting firms continue to fail, due to adverse market conditions and because of their untimely over-expansion, consumers will be increasingly exposed to the potential risk of losing vendors that host their mission-critical Web operations...It will become increasingly essential for them to undertake extensive research on not only the technical specifications of their potential service provider, but their financial viability."
