Doug Kaye's thoughts on web services, web hosting and managed services.

Enron Exits Content Delivery. "Enron's brief venture into content distribution should serve as a warning to other network-based carriers considering wading into the untested waters of this new business model." [Source: InteractiveWeek] In another good piece by Max Smetannikov, you'll see Enron's pattern of bad (or perhaps just unlucky) partnering choices including Covad and NorthPoint, and remarkably only signing a single customer: a streaming media dot-com called CountryCool. Make sure your CDN partner is in for the long haul, or that you have a strategy in place that allows you to switch CDNs on short notice.
